Solid hardwood has always been the standard for beauty and durability for home flooring. Hardwood installation almost guarantees that a home’s overall value will be instantly increased and its maintenance and beauty will more than double.

If you’ve decided to make a major change in your home environment, installing a new hardwood floor is one of the best changes you can make.

Whether replacing old wood floors or installing them for the first time, hardwood floors are sure to last for many decades to come. Therefore, it is important to carefully choose the type, color, style, width and placing of your floor.

At Pyramid Flooring, our experienced project managers personally consult with you to help you choose the right flooring type for your needs.  They will help with the choice of what different types of woods you will need.  We have options for domestic species like red oak, white oak, maple, birch, or one of the exotic hardwoods, like Brazilian redwood or Koa.

We are locally owned and operated, therefore we live in the communities we serve, and will always be here to help, before and after projects are completed. Let our hardwood flooring experts help make your house feel more like a home!

Are your existing hardwood floors starting to show the wear and tear of daily life? Maybe you’re just tired of the tone of your wood floor and desire a new stain color? Or, perhaps you’ve recently discovered you already have beautiful hardwood floors under that ugly and/or worn-out carpet?

Whatever the reason, refinishing that worn out floor is an inexpensive and highly-effective way of breathing new life into your home.

Although waxing and/or buffing a floor can sometimes offer a good shine, sanding and refinishing the wood is usually the only way to regain the original richness and beauty of the wood. Extend the life of your existing floor with expert floor refinishing services by our team of skilled flooring technicians at Pyramid Flooring.

The Process

If scratches or dings are in the hardwood, sanding and refinishing is the first step. However, a hardwood floor can only be sanded and refinished so many times because each sanding takes off more hardwood. (Solid hardwood floors can be sanded and refinished more times than engineered.)

Make sure your boards are thick enough to be refinished – at least 1/8″ or wood above the tongue & groove needs to be available. Check at floor edges or around a heat register to see how much wood remains. Also, there may be gaps that have developed over time that need filling before beginning.

Your Pyramid Flooring representative is always happy to help you with all these matters.

There are times, however, when sanding and refinishing hardwood floors isn’t enough and whole boards need to be replaced or repaired. If the wood floor feels spongy, if it sags, or if boards are cupping, buckling or warped, then they probably need replacing.

When Pyramid Flooring is finished, your hardwood floors will look and feel new again.
